CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF DFOY
Celebrating 35 Years of DFOY
On May 14, DFOY proudly celebrated 35 years of strengthening families, empowering young people, and uplifting communities at this year’s Gala celebration. The evening brought together supporters, staff, community leaders, and partners to honor the legacy of DFOY and the lives transformed through our mission-driven work.
Throughout the evening, we recognized pillars of the community whose leadership, advocacy, and commitment continue to inspire positive change across New York City. We were also honored to present the Legacy of Service Award to Elizabeth Jenkins in recognition of her more than 20 years of dedicated service to DFOY and the countless young people and families she has impacted along the way.
As we reflected on 35 years of service, the celebration was also a reminder of the powerful work still ahead. Every program, partnership, and success story reflects DFOY’s commitment to serving students, championing communities, and developing the next generation of leaders and agents of change.
We are deeply grateful to every staff member whose hard work made this celebration possible and whose dedication continues to move our mission forward each day. Together, we are building brighter futures and creating lasting impact for the young people and families we serve.

Together, with the incredible dedication of our Junior Board, we raised over $2,000 to support Directions for Our Youth’s programs across the Bronx and Manhattan.
